The Golden Teacher mushroom is a popular strain of psilocybin mushrooms, scientifically known as Psilocybe cubensis. This strain is well-known and often sought after by cultivators and users in the psychedelic community due to its relatively easy cultivation and moderate potency.

Some key characteristics of the Golden Teacher mushroom strain include:

1.      Appearance: The Golden Teacher strain typically features large, golden-capped mushrooms with a distinct appearance. When mature, the caps can take on a golden or caramel color, while the stem is usually thick and white.
2.      Potency: Golden Teachers are considered moderately potent among psilocybin mushrooms. Their effects can vary depending on factors such as growing conditions, individual tolerance, and dosage. Users generally report a balance between visual and introspective effects.
3.      Effects: Like other psilocybin-containing mushrooms, consuming Golden Teacher mushrooms can lead to altered states of consciousness characterized by visual and auditory hallucinations, changes in perception of time and space, introspection, and sometimes a sense of unity or connection with one’s surroundings.
4.      Cultivation: Golden Teachers are favored by cultivators due to their relatively straightforward cultivation process. They are known for being resilient and adaptable, making them a suitable choice for beginners in mushroom cultivation.

Like many magic mushroom strains, the history of Golden Teacher spores remains a bit of a mystery. What is known is that Golden Teacher magic mushrooms have been around since at least the 1980s.

The story goes that somebody found them somewhere in Florida and started to culture them. That extremely vague origin story might not be the truth, though.

There’s talk online that Golden Teacher is actually a PES Hawaiian strain but renamed by another grower. Apparently, the grower noticed that the Golden Teacher magic mushrooms had a slightly different look to others he grew because they had a golden-yellowish colored cap or gold cap.

We may never know which story is actually true, but at this point, it doesn’t really matter. We’re just happy that Golden Teacher magic mushrooms exist because these shrooms have changed the game forever.

The Appearance of Golden Teacher Magic Mushrooms

Golden Teacher magic mushrooms have a few unique qualities. First and foremost, they have large shining yellow gold caps, which is why they have their namesake.

On top of the cap are yellow or golden speckles that look like it’s been sprinkled with tiny gold flakes. Lastly, Golden Teacher magic mushrooms are pretty large and have thick and sturdy stems.

Another common characteristic of Golden Teacher magic mushroom strain is that they bruise easily. Bruising is when the psychedelic mushroom gets bluish spots, and it happens from harvest, transportation, or storage.

When you get your pack of Golden Teacher magic mushrooms, there’s a good chance it’ll have bruises on it. However, it’s nothing to worry about because bruising is totally normal and doesn’t affect the potency or safety of the shrooms in any way.
